It's been a great two weeks, but I certainly have learned a thing or two about being in middle/high school.
1. No matter where you go, seniors will always think they rule the school. Sure, they are older than the rest of the kids... but when they get cocky and treat the other kids poorly is when the problem is evident. Even worse is when there is a new teacher and they play the card, "I've been here longer than you. So whatever."
2. I love middle school students. I love high school students. I love the students who are just excited about life. Students who listen and students who can have fun with art, but still retain their composure when need be.
3. Though I have been anti-Facebook with students, I have reevaluated my thoughts and have come to realize what a powerful tool in building relationships and encouraging students. ... just always remember to readjust the Privacy Settings for any friended students. ;)
4. I still fear the idea of all boys. My Introduction to Art class is all boys and one girl. What divine craziness is this?!
5. I absolutely LOVE that I have a less than 20 minute commute. And in December, it'll be 3 minutes. I literally feel happier every day after I get out of the car.
6. Even though I'm taking $600 less a month, it is worth every single penny to be at a private school.
7. Having three different kinds of schedules every week is confusing... but I love having two planning bells off every day. AND I actually get those off EVERY day!
I'm really tired and can't think beyond that for right now. My wedding invitations came today, and they made my heart swell with joy. :) 115 more days.
